Sony VGN-NR485 Notebook

Sony Vaio VGN NR485 scored only 78 point on PCWorld review test. This notebook has positive feature like it’s nice design and good battery life but it also has some weakness on Unsatisfyingly short keystrokes and Hard drive not user upgradable. A Windows Vista Home Premium laptop powered by a 2-GHz Core 2 Duo T5750 and 2GB of RAM, the VGN-NR485 bagged a respectable WorldBench 6 score of 75. That’s pretty solid performance for a laptop that stands among the cheapest notebook of it’s class. It sells for $849 and It has the speed to handle almost any kind of application except 3D gaming tests, which the VGN-NR485 couldn’t run because of its lousy integrated Intel graphics chip.

The keyboard is a matter of taste. If you can ignore the somewhat short stroke, it’s comfortable, featuring keys with spacious flat tops. A solid performer with all the most important connections, loads of storage, and an eye-catching dark-blue finish, the Sony VGN-NR485 is a sweet little deal for the under-$1000 notebook.

Advent 9115 laptop Overview

What do we need to say? This is an absolute beauty. Stylish looks and enough under the bonnet to keep this laptop purring like a cat. We'll start off with the processor which is an Intel Dual Core T2310 running at 1.46Ghz, obviously you can expect pretty much double that. These processors are designed to be more efficient than previous single core models and as such your laptop is less likely to fall over when multi-tasking. To go with this there is also 2Gb of DDR2 memory installed, helping you to whizz through the most mundane of tasks. The OS is Windows Vista Home Premium and despite all the bad press, this really is the future of computing. With the decent processor and memory size you should have very little issues with this power hungry software. With the  SIS Mirage3 integrated graphics of 256Mb shared you should be able to play alot of the games on the market although it is always advisable to check the minimum spec required first. The hard drive is a whopping 120Gb, which is more like what you would have expected in a PC a few years back. There is more than enough space on here for even the most click happy photographer. The optical drive is a DVDRW which will enable you to play and record on to CD and DVD fromat. The 15.4" WXGA screen will allow you to watch movies as they were designed to seen, in widescreen! Let's not forget the built in wireless and also the very handy 4-in-1 card reader. There is nothing more we can say about this laptop that hasn't already been said, it is a beauty! Why else would it be our Managers Top Pick for Christmas this year. Don't dilly dally for too long as they will not be in stock for ever at this price...

A Look At The History Of Notebook Computers

A notebook computer is a term used interchangeably with laptop computers. For those of you not familiar, a notebook computer is one that is smaller and lighter than a personal computer. You can take it with you anywhere so it offers you more access to the internet, a way to watch movies, and even a way to work while you are away on business trips.

The first notebook computer was introduced in 1981 but they were very expensive and not as versatile as they are today. IBM and Epsom both placed versions of portable laptops on the market in 1983. Even with more models emerging, notebook computers were an item often associated only with high profile businessmen.

It wasn't until 1995 when Microsoft introduced their operating system Windows 95 that the world of notebook computers exploded. This operating system along with advances in technology that allowed notebook computers to function in the same ways as a personal computer led to them dropping in price and more consumers buying them.

Some of the improvements that occurred around this time were a better battery that no longer included acid. Power saving notebook computers were introduced so the life of the battery lasted much longer. They also were now able to hold more data so they could be used for more concepts at any given time.

Today you see people of all ages carrying their notebook computers to the office, home, on airplanes, colleges, and hotels. Many public places are set up with areas for individuals to conveniently use their laptops. Since we live in such a computer age having a notebook computer can help you stay on top of things for work and pleasure no matter where you go.

You can find notebook computers in a variety of sizes and from multiple manufacturers. They come with a good price, plenty of storage capacity, and warranties. If you are in the market for a notebook computer you will have no trouble finding exactly what you are looking for.
